*sigh… I’m rarely in favour of a football/soccer coach getting fired if a team is underperforming. I think it is usually a reactionary response, that places blame on the most obvious target, when usually the blame should be on the players out there on the pitch. I think there are a few players over the hill at MUFC, a few with egos, a few that cannot/don’t want to adapt to a new manager’s style and expectations, and a few that only performed at a high level in previous seasons because Ferguson was getting the best out of them. Although, having said that, the more I have read, the more I have seen, the more I actually think this might be the right decision. Sorry to say so. I think Moyes is a talented manager, with vision and drive. But some of his decisions, be they in terms of transfers or tactics or player management, left question marks. The highlights of the Bayern Munich draw and the recent 4 - 0 win against Newcastle have been too few and far between. It was always going to be a tough job, where a lot needed to fall into place for the team to have a successful season. In the end, it just hasn’t worked out.
